Dress Code

Dress Code

We request that students carefully observe the studio dress code. The dress code allows the teacher to see your physical movement and make the proper corrections. Being properly dressed shows the teacher you are serious about your art form.


General Dress Code

  • Jewelry is not permitted with the exception of pierced studs and medical alert bracelets
  • Dance shoes will not be worn outside of the studios
  • Street shoes will not be worn anywhere inside the building
  • Street clothes should be worn over dance attire when entering and leaving the studio
  • Hair must be secured off the face and in a ponytail (when possible) when a ballet bun is not required
  • Sports bras and midriff-baring tops will not be acceptable dance attire

Recreational Dance

Ballet

  • Ballet pink tights
  • Ballet shoes
  • Black leotard
  • Hair in a bun

Hip-Hop

  • Comfortable clothing that allows for movement
  • Clean, indoor sneakers
  • Hair up

Jazz

  • Black leotard
  • Jazz shoes (preferably black)
  • Dance shorts or pants
  • Hair up

Lyrical/Contemporary

  • Black leotard
  • Dance shorts or pants
  • Bare feet
  • Hair up

Irish Dance

  • No gum
  • No jeans or baggy clothes
  • Black jazz shoes
  • Long hair must be up.
  • Must bring water to class!

8 & 12 Week Sessions

Tot & Me

  • Comfortable Clothing
  • Clean and comfortable indoor shoes
  • Baby carrier (optional)

Latin Beats

  • Comfortable Clothing
  • Shoes with leather soles
    • Heels for ladies (optional)

Adult Ballet

  • Comfortable Clothing
  • Socked feet or ballet shoes
  • Hair up and out of the face
